5 years later
I awoke this morning praising God for how He is working in this tiny country, the smallest land country in all of Africa. Today is inauguration day in The Gambia, exactly 5 years ago today this is what I posted on Facebook “Keep praying for The Gambia and political transitions. I just heard some encouragingContinue reading “5 years later”
Medical Care
When you live in the middle of nowhere West Africa there are many things you learn to go without or those things at least look very different. One of those things is medical care, don’t worry I am not the patient. Myself, my teammates and our Gambian staff can usually handle the medical needs ofContinue reading “Medical Care”
Sanni Karta “Throw the Card”
Today is election day in The Gambia and it is called Sanni Karta day (throw the card, like throwing in your vote). Due to a very low literacy rate there are no paper ballots or computerized booths. Instead, there are different barrels of different colors representing each political party. Each person drops a marble inContinue reading “Sanni Karta “Throw the Card””
A deep breath

I will share more details when things settle down, butContinue reading “God goes before us, prayers needed”
Travel Days
In the last 48 hours I have spent over 6 hours on a ferry boat and another 6 hours waiting at the terminal. Don’t forget the river crossing is only about 2 miles wide. And guess what, I get to cross the river again today (as you read this). However, I am definitely taking theContinue reading “Travel Days”
Solid Foundations
This week a friend and her family have found themselves in seemingly impossible circumstances that would shake even the strongest of us and she is strong! She is grieving and hurting, but she is also trusting and standing on her sure foundation in Christ. As I have been praying for this family I am remindedContinue reading “Solid Foundations”
Seasons
As I sit here sneezing and looking at my pollen covered Christmas colored car (red car with lots of green pollen) I am reflecting on the seasons. I grew up in California where we have pretty much one season, sunny and mild. As much as I enjoy California weather it was not until I movedContinue reading “Seasons”
