Alison Dominguez
Sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through medical evangelism in The Gambia, West Africa
My story
About Alison
I love the Lord and He called me to career missionary service many years ago. After a long season of waiting where He was equipping and preparing me for ministry, I was appointed by ABWE in July 2015 to serve in The Gambia, West Africa and arrived on the field in September 2016. I am a Physician Assistant working alongside other career missionaries at the Ndungu Kebbeh Health Center. Our vision is to share the love of Christ to the people of the Gambia and partner with the Lord in making disciples in all nations. The Health Center and our other ministries in The Gambia provide many opportunities to build lasting relationships that lead to opportunities to share the gospel with our unreached neighbors.
I am blessed to be sent out in service by West Cabarrus Church of Concord, NC in partnership with ABWE (Association of Baptists for World Evangelism).

My Testimony
I became a believer later in life, at the age of 30 I found myself in a church for the third time ever. The people I met there had a hope, a joy and peace about them and I knew that I wanted that. This came from their relationship with the Lord. I surrendered my life to the Lord and followed in believers baptism. I had a passion to share this hope and joy with others. As I was sitting in a service one Wednesday night, the pastor spoke on the great commission. I had never heard of the great commission, but I wrote in my journal that night that within a year I would go on a mission trip.
Exactly one year after writing that in my journal I was on a plane headed to Guatemala. When we arrived and partnered with the missionary physicians in Guatemala I saw how they cared for their patients spiritual needs and I witnessed God move through the power of medical evangelism and I knew He wanted to use me in this way.
And then, God called me to full time ministry with an audible voice saying “you will do this full time.” I firmly believe that He does not call the equipped, but instead He equips the called. It took over 10 years of waiting before He moved me to The Gambia and career missionary service. In the waiting God not only equipped me in practical ways, He drew me into a more intimate, more dependent and more personal relationship with Him. During that season of preparation and prayer God provided an opportunity to visit The Gambia. As soon as I arrived my heart was moved by a very bold Gambian believer who proudly declared “we have the same Father”. Upon seeing her faith in Jesus Christ and her boldness, God challenged me to serve alongside of her and share with other Gambians the good news of Jesus Christ.
