I am busy attending and helping organize our Adult Literacy class facilitator training. The class has been challenging and is definitely helping with my Wolof. Some days I have been so tongue tied in English that I cannot even speak my own heart language.

In the evenings our class facilitators have also been learning more advanced math with multiplication and division. I have been participating in some of the math review lessons and I am transported back to elementary school, multiplication tables and long division. NOT FUN, but good to remind my brain that I don’t have to rely on my phone. Just like in the US, everyone here has a phone. However, without much electricity phones may not be charged and they are easily lost, stolen or damaged. It has been fun to challenge myself and see them learn for the first time these complex equations that will be very beneficial to them in buying and selling.
