Years

Facebook memories can be great reminders and I had one pop up recently that got me reflecting on the years that I have now spent in The Gambia and all that God has done, is doing and will do and how His light is shining in this dark place.  God also reminded me recently how much a part of all of that work my prayer warriors are, so keep on praying.

One year ago:  On August 31st, 2021 I arrived back in The Gambia after spending a year of furlough in the US.  During my furlough time God raised up a TON of amazing and intentional prayer warriors for myself and the ministry in The Gambia and I remember saying either something really big and awesome is going to happen when I return or it is going to be super hard and I will need every one of these prayer warriors.  I hate to say it, but up until a few days ago I had forgotten what God had told me before I returned.  Since my return in 2021, the season has definitely been hard, but I can feel the prayers and I can see that awesome things are happening in the ministry.  I am excited to see what is next so keep on praying!

Two years ago:  On August 26th, 2020 after waiting for almost two months with my bags packed and countless cancelled and changed flights due to covid I finally got on an airplane to head to the US from The Gambia and begin my scheduled furlough time.  And, on August 27th, 2020 I got my first chick-fil-a and was on US soil!

Almost 6 years ago: On September 15th, 2016 I officially moved to The Gambia to serve the Lord here for as long as that is His plan.  It has looked nothing like what I could even begin to expect.  It is amazing and so full of wonderful time with God and open doors to share His truths and I love where He has placed me and look forward to what the next 6, 16, or maybe even 26 years serving in The Gambia will look like.

And almost 8 years ago: September 6th, 2014 I set foot on Gambian soil for the very first time and God using an amazing Gambian believer grabbed my heart for these beautiful people and I knew He had called me to this place.
