Celebrate

Today has been a beautiful day of celebration on many levels and I am so grateful to be in the US celebrating with my amazing West Cabarrus Church family. A large part of my furlough ministry time is re-connecting with my sending church and God is really blessing me by providing many opportunities to do so.

It is Palm Sunday; this morning as I read and listened to Scripture I could almost hear the shouts of Hosanna and see the palm trees waving as Jesus begins His triumphal entry into Jerusalem. This day is a day to remember and celebrate God’s great love and faithfulness in sending His son for us. From my devotion this am: “He (God) showers us with love even on our most unloving day. By grace, He transforms our hearts… to keep the ultimate love of our hearts for Him and Him alone. CELEBRATE the gift of that rescuing love.” For those that know the savior Jesus may we celebrate as we enter into Holy Week, for those that do not I pray you would come to know His great love.

Palm Sunday also marks the anniversary of West Cabarrus Church, my sending church. Today was not just any anniversary, but a celebration of 30 years of God’s faithfulness to the generations. 30 years of God’s word being faithfully preached, His love being shown to the neighborhoods and nations, His abundant provision and many coming to know Him through His work in this place. Today was a day full of tears, shouts and claps of joy as we came together and celebrated all that He has done, is doing and will do. As Pastor Ryan shared today we looked back at His faithfulness which causes us to give praise in the present and gives us hope for the future. I am truly blessed to be a part of this amazing body of believers who love the Lord well and it is an honor to be a small part of what God is doing through His church. May He be glorified in all we do.

Psalms 100: A Psalm of praise.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
