Gorilla Glue

The climate and everyday life with lots of dirt and bugs is hard on “things” here in West Africa.  So, you have to get creative sometimes.  As many of you know, I am not very handy at fixing things so sometimes I admit I have to take short cuts.  One of the best things that moved here with me and has been used many times in all sorts of strange ways is Gorilla Glue.  I have things glued to my cement walls because the screws were not strong enough or wouldn’t stay, I have chairs glued together because the plastic rotted from the sun and you can’t buy replacements, I have towel racks glued together where they broke, last week I had to glue a safe together and I have laminate countertops glued back on because they lifted from the humidity.  However, today I had to use the Gorilla Glue for a unique reason.

Yep, this is a picture of me gluing my bible!  The pages were starting to fall out and the binding was completely coming out of the cover so Gorilla Glue to the rescue.
