I have used the word transition hundreds of times over the last few weeks. Our teammate Deb Newsome who served in The Gambia for many years transitioned to be with the Lord in heaven this past week after a long battle with cancer. Praise God for many gospel opportunities as we shared with her Gambian family her transition and her healing in heaven. Pray for more opportunities and that many would come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior through her transition.
And, God has given us a beautiful transition opportunity with our medical ministry and I am so excited to see what He does. In just one week, after 40 years ABWE is stepping back from day to day management and work in the Ndungu Kebbeh Health Centre. We are entering in to a new season of partnership with Omega foundation. The transition process has truly been a time where we have seen the Lord work in amazing ways. During the next week please pray specifically for peace and wisdom for myself, our team, Omega foundation and their interim director. Pray for our employees, these transitions and changes are not easy for them. Pray for our community and most importantly that through these transitions God would be glorified and eyes would be opened to the truth of the gospel. Watch for a video update with more information in the new year.
Tomorrow, I will transition all of my property and employee responsibilities to my teammate Joanne who has recently returned to The Gambia. It is time to take things off my plate, please pray for her as she will have a lot of responsibilities and is still getting settled back in to life here.
I will be taking the next month or so away from my blog as I wrap up some final things here then take some time to rest, refuel, regroup and step into the next phases in this transition. I hope to see many of you in the US in 2023.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year greetings from The Gambia
