Circuits

A circuit is defined as “the path which is always required to get electricity to flow and do something useful.”  Over the last few weeks, many things have broken on our property and there has been a lot of attention paid to circuits.  Praise God, we have a short-term visitor who is an Engineering student and she even took a class called “circuits”.  We have kept her busy working alongside of our National employees as this has been way beyond my skill sets. All of you electricians and engineers, please be kind as this analogy and definition may be somewhat flawed.

Many times, in the repair process we have had to be creative and make new pathways or repair old pathways so they can “do something useful” like powering fridges, water pumps, lights and fans.  In these repairs, the Lord has clearly gone before us by providing needed supplies, skilled workers and our short-term helper.  God has also protected us greatly as He always does.  One of the situations had wires smoking and sparking in very close proximity to large batteries that could have exploded, another situation had a battery leaking and we think at some point in time lightning may have struck some of the solar panels.

Melted and corroded solar panel components, maybe a lightning strike
Melted fuse that was smoking and sparking
Old switches that were replaced

Praise God, it does seem like we are finally on a good path to get things flowing to “do something useful” when it comes to our property repairs.  But, that definition of a circuit made me stop in my tracks and ponder if spiritually I am on the path that is required to “do something useful”?  Am I praying enough?  Am I seeking the Lord’s will in all I do?  Am I being fully obedient in everything?  Am I doing what the Lord asks in order to do something useful for Him?  If I am being honest, my circuit is probably not as efficient and effective as it could be.  But GOD, in His mercy and grace gives us the daily power to grow closer to Him and be useful to Him even when we are not as efficient or effective as we would like to be.
