This week I have felt a little like Frogger from that old arcade game where he is trying to cross the road and not get squished (yes, I know I am revealing my age with this reference). It has been a week of jumping from one task to another while trying to not forget the first task and also be present and respectful of those who I am working with. I am usually pretty good at juggling lots of tasks and jumping from one to another and then back. However, I admit that although I may not be squished while I jump around and cross the road I do squish other people a lot more often than I would like (I would like to never do it). Yes, I am working on it. This is a culture that is all about sitting and being, not doing like our Western culture. This is a culture focused on people and relationships with much less emphasis on a task that is at hand. This is a culture where greetings, respect, calm hearts, slowness to speak and more are highly valued. I wish I could say I have never made some big mistakes especially in the busyness when I am that frog who is on a mission and just trying to get to the other side of the road, but sadly I cannot.

But, God is gracious, merciful, patient, loving, forgiving and a wonderful teacher so He keeps putting me in the middle of the road and helping me to cross safely and maybe even allowing me to bring some others along with me. Pray for opportunities to shine the light of Christ in the middle of the busy road and pray for me to see those opportunities and embrace them. Just yesterday as I was jumping between three different repairman one sat at my desk and picked up the Jesus Storybook bible and he read some of the titles “The King of Kings”, “The Light of the World”. I did not even know this man read English, pray that when he returns I won’t just jump into the work task but that I can share with him a little more about what he was curious about in Scripture.
Love you my precious friend and praying 🙏 for you & the work.
I so relate to the seduction of “busyness”. A wise friend would remind me that we are human BEINGS, no human doings. And it’s the ” do-do” that often gets us in trouble.xox Jannie
