The Gambia is a predominantly Muslim country and today marks the start of Ramadan, the Muslim month of fasting, where, from sun up to sun down muslims around this country, and around the world will fast from all food and drink. The Gambia is a country with freedom of religion and today marks the start of Lent, 40 days of fasting and prayer. The Gambia, although part of the British commonwealth, is an independent nation and today, marks, our Independence Day, celebrating 61 years as a free nation.
So today, on this very interesting day, which highlights many facets of this, the smallest country on the continent of Africa, would you take a moment and pray. Pray for the people of The Gambia, for the leadership in this country, and for those working to share the truth in this.place.
