Yes, it has been 10 months since March 20th, 2025 when my plans changed in the blink of an eye. It feels like the car accident was forever ago, I have no limitations and most days no pain. On Thursday, January 22nd, 2026 I start the trek back to The Gambia with a group from my sending church West Cabarrus Church. We arrive January 23rd and head to the village on Sunday, January 25th. Your prayers are appreciated for our travels and time there. When the team from West Cabarrus Church leaves, I will be staying and working with my team to pray through decisions and next steps after the passing of our teammate Joanne.
Life has been a blur lately and while I am starting to get excited about my return, the preparations are a lot and I am not as organized as I normally am. Currently, there is a large pile on the floor of my guestroom with empty suitcases surrounding the pile. I am grateful for a friend who is coming to stay in that guestroom and help me get going on the packing. Also grateful for extra suitcases because of the group coming with me.
