This post has nothing to do with finances. I am talking about Kingdom investments, relationship investments, gospel investments. Much of my day here is spent seeking opportunities to invest more in those around me and to point to the greatest investment of all, Faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Last week, God opened another door to invest in our community. My “plan” for the day was to make a “quick” trip to the weekly market. BUT God, had other plans.
I was invited to attend a very important program for village and regional leaders. I sat and chatted with many of the village elders as we waited for the program to start. Of course, there was much laughter and teasing as well as many trying to arrange a marriage for me. The program began and I was very appreciative of the invite and opportunity to invest in our community. I was content to sit in the back with the other women and observe the ceremony. BUT God, had other plans.
As the ceremony began I was ushered to the front row with the VIP’s from our village, region, government and special guests. It quickly became evident I might need to actually make a short speach which I was not excited about. I prayed and mentally practiced my greetings and thanks to our community. However, when two microphones, a camera and light were shoved in my face my Wolof got really messy and tongue tied! BUT God, can give understanding and clarity and I stand on that truth.
What a privilege to truly be a part of this community, to have this opportunity and to see the Lord answer so many prayers in the name of Jesus. May many here take the opportunity to invest in Christ and transform their lives.
