“Extra”

(picture is not from this ferry crossing, praise God it was not that busy)

The last several weeks life and ministry have been “extra” which can be defined as excessive or extravagant. After a few rough weeks in the village my teammate and I were in need of a break in the city and it worked out well that we had a team meeting already scheduled which allowed us a week away.  We were really hoping and praying for an easy ferry crossing as we were weary. That did not happen, but the Lord carried us through.

After over 7 hours, some real road blocks (where a ferry worker did not want to let us in), the car getting crashed into twice in a parking lot, crazy traffic,  and a few stops we made it to the guesthouse. We rewarded ourselves with AC and take out via our doordash type service and then we crashed.

36 hours of peace, isolation, rest and time with the Lord did wonders. I was even able to fellowship with Omega Church on Sunday and enjoy a wonderful service led by the youth and an excellent sermon.

After a week in the city, I was ready to head “home” to the village and able to handle whatever “extra” came our way. Praise God we had a great ferry crossing back. We returned to many extra prayer requests for our community as well as extra hot and humid weather (the rains have stopped).

I know some of you are walking in major “extra” seasons right now. Praying for you and for gifts of peace and time with the Lord in the hard times.
