I’m Back

July is a month where much of our ministry work pauses. It is the beginning of the rains and the Gambians are busy planting and working their farms. This is a season that allows us to take a little break and some much needed vacation.

After some time away from my blog and from ministry I am back. The transition back is never easy, BUT God so clearly went before. I had the opportunity to share with a Gambian man a little about the literacy classes we are doing and he was excited to see that there are people trying to help Gambians to help themselves. He asked me why I made the “sacrifice” to move here which flung open a door for me to share that my sacrifice is nothing compared to Jesus’ sacrifice for the world.

I had a good return and I am grateful I was well rested and filled up, because I encountered many surprises / problems upon my return to our rural compound. I won’t exhaust you with the list, but it is extensive. When the rains hit, you never know what will happen. I am thankful for great workers who pitched in and took care of things when a pipe burst while we were gone and for all of their help as we continue to uncover and address more repairs.
