God over all, even snakes. (Yes there is a snake story and one picture so stop reading if you need to)

I took a little time this week to pray through and process the craziness of last week. When I came back to the village after a wonderful, but busy time with the team from WCC there was a lot to jump in to. Last week started major roofing and plumbing projects as well as a new daily routine with me being back in full time language study for the next 3 months. And, of course this is West Africa so there are always added in WAWA moments that keep you on your toes (or on your knees in prayer).  Last week had the added challenges of  encountering spitting cobras , water pipes coming disconnected while other pipes needed to be cut and moved as well as many other situations that kept me in prayer.

Did you know that I have an emergency prayer village? If you want to join download whats app and send me a facebook message or email with your #.

When I saw that spitting cobra puff up his big cobra head and try to spit venom at us all I thought was, we need prayers for protection. I swiftly (with one eye on the snake and at a distance) sent a text that said “pray now!”  And God protected;  no one was injured and the snake was successfully killed. The day prior to this several workers had been moving around things in the storage container where this snake was living, praise God for His amazing provision.

Measuring the dead snake 6 1/2 ft long

Another night around 9:30 pm (past my bedtime) I was about to get ready for bed and heard a loud gushing noise. I knew something had happened to the water system. I grabbed a super bright headlamp someone had recently given me and ran to our water shed to find a disconnected hose spraying water everywhere. 2 days prior someone had shown me where the shutoff to that hose was and they had left the extra tall ladder next to the hose not thinking I might need it. God had clearly gone before and prepared for this situation.

There were many other big answers to personal prayers last week, some that God chose to answer in very specific ways.

All this to say, God is sovereign, all knowing, all powerful and He cares for His children.  He chose to reveal Himself in huge ways last week and instead of being overwhelmed by all that happened I just kept smiling and chuckling wondering how He might choose to show Himself next. Honestly, it was a fun week with so many answered prayers and I am still overflowing with praise.
