Prep and prayer

After a quick grocery run into the city and purchasing some supplies for our adult literacy classes, I am back in the village and things have been in high gear for our training that begins TODAY.

5 Gambian facilitators from 5 nearby villages will spend the next two weeks with us. Some will travel daily, some will stay with family and others will stay in our bunkhouse. We will provide all of their meals, their much coveted attaaya (green tea with lots of caffeine and sugar), their class supplies and more. Praise God for lots of Gambian helpers to bring this all together.

My assistants and some groceries

Monday – Friday for the next two weeks will be our intensive Adult Literacy class facilitator training. Daily at around 6am EST each attendee will have the opportunity to watch a video with biblical teachings and ask questions.

I will have the opportunity to be a student in the classes also. I am looking forward to connecting with the other attendees, learning more about our literacy ministry and working on my Wolof.

Pray for myself and my teammate as we oversee the trainings, it will be a busy 2 weeks. Pray for our two Gambian trainers. Pray for all of our helpers. Pray for the 5 facilitators. Most importantly pray for open hearts and minds, especially each day around 6am EST.
