After time settling back into life in The Gambia and resuming work on our residential property this week marked the beginning of full-time work in the new ministry. I am exploring and organizing my new office while connecting with the employees. Our cleaners did a great job as the office has been vacant for over 6 years and I have encountered very few surprises. The office is on a neighboring property and we have a shortcut gate next to my house so my commute to work is very short, but I did not turn down a ride with my teammate in the airconditioned car on day #1. I will be operating under our Adult Literacy Ministry which has been serving the people of The Gambia for over 35 years. Currently, I am focused on learning all I can about the literacy programs and how they operate as we continue to pray and explore what the next steps might look like for the Community Development / Community Health ministry. I am excited to soak up all that I can and grateful for all of the open doors for ministry in The Gambia. In many ways I can relate to all of the kids I see on Facebook going back to school, I have a lot to learn! I took this picture for y’all to mark this new season of great learning and me in many ways going back to school. And yes, I even got new clothes for back to school. Thank you for praying as we see where the Lord leads.
