An ongoing cycle

If you ask any overseas missionary what are some of the challenges of this lifestyle that God has called us to you will get a long list of answers. I would guarantee that in the top 5 answers is the never-ending cycle of packing and unpacking.

I am in the midst of the packing cycle right now with sections of my home set aside for suitcases to The Gambia, things still to pack for The Gambia, Goodwill donations, “stuff” I need, bins to go to storage and honestly some stuff that I just have no clue what to do with. The suitcases pictured are about to make their fifth trip to The Gambia and again they are full with all sorts of wonderful comforts from America. I am so grateful for all of you that were a part of fulfilling the wish list and filling them. They are getting really close to maxing out on weight and I am grateful for help to get them upstairs and to the airport next month. As I look at those suitcases I see the work of packing them and the work of unpacking them as well as unpacking all of my items that are stored in plastic bins in The Gambia. But, I also see the many ministry partners who pray and give so that I can do the work the Lord has called me to in The Gambia. I look at these suitcases with excitement as I prepare for the next steps and a new ministry in The Gambia.

My flight departs August 5th and there will be a lot of US travel before I get on that plane. I appreciate your prayers for all of the logistics, especially the packing.
